BurdaStyle Embraces Open Source Sewing: And What Does That Mean?

While creating BurdaStyle, we were captivated by the open source philosophy: the sharing of intellectual property and allowing the public to adapt it to their specific needs. We assimilated the concept to BurdaStyle, removing the copyright from our patterns. Our open source sewing patterns are free to be used as a base for your own design. It doesn't mean they don't cost any money, we are charging for producing high quality patterns. However, and that's the exciting part: whatever you sew, you can sell if you like! We believe that removing copyrights from our designs will inspire creativity and spawn multiple new designs - and that's wonderful!

I love that Burdastyle is open source. I was wondering, with the merge of Burda Fashion, does this mean the content from the magazine will also be open source? Also, can we expect to see all the patterns and content on burdafashion.com moved over to burdastyle.com?

I have been unable to log in to Burdastyle for the last month. I have sent an email reporting the problem but have not heard back. I enjoy this web community a lot and I miss it. Can you fix the problem soon. thanks

I have purchased Burda young fashion 7739 sizes 8/20 and would like to make "C". Unfortunately I have lost the back bodice pattern. Is it the same as the front except for the opening centre back for the zipp?

I love Burda magazine .It taught me how to sew and above all it taught me how to taste high style fashion. It was an inspiration not only to me but also to my mom who used to get the magazine since i was a little girl.So u can say Burda magazine lived among us for the 3rd generation because my daughter has became a fan for the magazine too but nowadays i am finding a difficulty finding it on bookstores. u can imagine howhard is that to me .
